First Time Try
Pat Waters (Bridgetown, NL) 4/15/2012 10:42 PM
I'm a newcomer to 4 noggins so I tried the Virgia Samplers. Almosa? I gree with Wayne he took the words out of my mouth....a good smoke. I agree a little moist and takes a few lights but it's worth it.

A Comforting Smoke
Wayne Levick (Woy Woy, New South Wales) 3/31/2012 4:26 AM
Alamosa is a middle of the road, value for money, no tongue burn Virginia blend. Nothing about it really stands out but then again, there's nothing unpleasant about it either. I suggest some drying. It's taken me four ounces to really assess it but that said, if you're looking for a medium and well balanced all day smoke that slowly grows on you over time, this is it. Great in a comforting but nondescript way. I'll be purchasing some more. Recommended.

Alamosa
Raymond Mackessy (Dalzell, SC) 5/31/2011 4:30 PM
Just received a sample of this fine Va/Per from Rich. I find the perique in this blend just right for my tastes. I did have a hard time keeping it lit at first (4 relights), but when it got going it stayed lit to the bottom. I recommend drying it out for an hour before lighting. Taste stayed consistent to the bottom with only a bit of bitterness at the bottom. The Virginias in this blend are very good with a slight sweetness. Deducted 1 star because of the relights and that the blend takes some serious drying time. On the whole I would recommend this blend to smokers of Va/Pers who don't like to be overpowered with perique. I smoked this blend in a Peterson Donegal Rocky Canadian.

District Judge

When you open the pouch, it smells like light nugmeg, just like nutmeg. In the pipe, it smokes like a very high quallity Virginia with a dash--no more--of perique to keep things interesting. This is an exceptionally mild blend that burns slowly, stys lit and doesn't offend. It might be described as a lighter version of Escudo--and that's saying something. In a word: Easy. Easy to smoke, easy to like, easy to become one of you favorites.

A fantastic blend
AGGELOS MELEKOS (CHIOS, GREECE) 2/19/2011 12:13 PM
Α exceptional classic tobacco, without intense aroma, but with that full sense of good smoking. One of my best!
