J.F. GERMAIN
| Still made under ideal climatic conditions in the island of JERSEY, where the family business of J .F. GERMAIN & SON commenced manufacturing tobacco in 1820. The experience gained by succeeding generations in the art of blending has produced the range of fine individual tobaccos available today. The reconstructed factory is situated on the site of the original premises facing the harbor of St. Helier, from whence, 180 years ago, Jersey-built schooners sailed to many parts of the world, some returning with cargoes of leaf tobacco for Germain's factory. |
Named after the year in which the company was founded this mixture of top grade Cyprus Latakia Oriental and Flue cured tobacco will provide plenty of interest for the experienced pipe smoker.
Heavy, flake-style, air and flue cured dark tobaccos that have some sugar crystal present.
A blend of Latakia, oriental and Virginian tobaccos. Made without the addition of flavoring this mixture has a completely natural tobacco taste.

The name of this tobacco originates from the early days, when all tobaccos were pressed into cakes before cutting. Four types of Virginia tobaccos are blended with Cavendish and a specially-prepared Black Tobacco.
This tobacco contains the same ingredients as the Royal Jersey Original Latakia Mixture, the recipe being faithfully followed, but without the Latakia, revealing a tobacco with a quite different character.
