Pure "A" Grade
Wayne Levick (Woy Woy, New South Wales) 8/3/2013 3:19 AM
John Patton's Storm Front was sent to me as a sample. Really not one I'd choose to try. I'm not a big Burley fan and the cigar leaf! I love Virginia. And yet, from the very first bowl, I was deeply impressed. This is a great, spicy, almost sweet tobacco that I find very satisfying. I didn't find it lacking in Vit. N and I was sipping a gravity fed, slightly tamped bowl. This is perfectly produced, pure “A” grade, all day tobacco that really delivers exceptional value for money. When blended with Granulated Perique, Storm Front becomes another and deeper smoke altogether. I recommend buying John Patton's Storm Front in a big bag and perhaps some Granulated Perique in a small bag, in case the urge takes you. This is top quality, exquisite leaf beautifully crafted, either on its own or mixed. Highly recommended.

Holy Moly Batman

In ode to John The CobFather, I am smoking this blend in my trusty Missouri Meerscaum Legend. One word: Amazing. If you had to choose a blend right now - without hesitation I would say Storm Front is your blend!

I'm so glad you like Storm Front so much. And yes, I named it because of a violent storm that passed through the area while I was blending it. It's my favorite blend still, after all this time.

Remarkable

Honey tones with enough complexity to please. This is a great smoke, albeit somewhat mild-medium. If you don't love it, I'd be surprised.
