Mac Baren HH VINTAGE SYRIAN 100g |

The base of the blend, a little under half of the volume, is a smooth and yet powerful Latakia from Syria. This tobacco gives the blend the overall smoky taste, a powerful taste and yet without any tongue bite. To add a spicy note to the blend, Turkish Oriental has been added. To complete the taste with depth and body, we added a little Dark Fired Kentucky from the USA. This is a loose cut tobacco, which guarantees a smooth and steady burn. It does not get hot which means you will find extremely little bite on your tongue.

A Tobac to relax with on a Hay Day for a sweet pipe dream

Now here is a Tobac worthy of the boast on the back of the tin. Just less than half the mix is Syrian Latakia, has Turkish Orientals, Virginias from 3 continents, and a Dark Fired Kentucky from the USA. The tin note has a wonderful grassy wiff to it, like the smell of a newly stocked hay barn on a hot August harvest. Moisture content if very nice and will not give a gurgle, even when smoked in a large briar. The character of the smoke is complex, smokey with a moderately sweet offering. The top third of a bowl is dominated by the Syrian Latakia, the sweet Orientals and virginias come out in the middle third and the last third stays sweet and smokey without souring, just intensified. If you like the Balkan blends, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one. I would rate it on the lighter side, as compared to Balkan Sasieni or McClelland's Wilderness.
