Dark taste

Irish Flake is one of the easiest pipe tobaccos I've smoked. It's easy to smoke, doesn't matter if you smoke it right out of the tin or forget it on the table for few days without much difference in taste (IMHO). The taste is full and something I call 'dark'. This one belongs to my top ten pipe tobaccos.
Peterson Irish Flake

After smoking significantly less due to the smoking ban (thanks, Canada!), I finally built up the courage to smoke this masterpiece. The tin aroma reminds me of very dark rye bread, dried fruit, earth, and wood. If you practice the fine art of folding you flakes, the tobacco reveals an array of full-bodied aromas with hints of earth, wood, hay, and dark roast coffee. This dominant aroma reminds me of the smell of a forest after a rain in autumn. The delightful aroma of earth and wood are present from the beginning to the very end, with coffee, hay, and rye bread lingering in the background. I recommend this tobacco after a good dinner in the late evening, as this is truly a blend for the experienced smoker. This flake requires time, concentration, and complete devotion, for you might end up exposing the said dinner to the world. This tobacco truly deserves one of those hideous labels saying that "Smoking Kills". Nevertheless, if you are looking for a full-bodied, rich, and creamy tobacco with absolutely no hints of sweetness, do not hesitate to try this fantastic blend!

I enjoy this first thing in the morning with a strong espresso (or two) and a piece of dark choclate.

If you love a full bodied, yet cool dry smoke, then this is the flake for you. This is NOT for the fruity flavored pipe smoker. Peterson's Irish Flake is a great way to start the day and is also a great smoke for outside chores since it does not have a very pleasant room note.
