Unfortunately current rum twist is not the same as it was. There has been a noticeable fall in quality of GH products lately, Rum twist is one of them. First of all product picture isn't actually accurate. On the photo a well spun firm twist can be seen. Twist I've found in 250g box I've bought is poorly spun as some filler leaves stick out of rope, and it is spongy to the touch. Next is the smell. REAL rum twist smelled sweet spicy leathery, this twist however has more nasty smell - it smells bitter, earthy, leathery and there's no sweetness to be found. Compared to REAL twist this one is easier to prepare - its easier to cut coins and rub 'em out. You also don't need to dry tobacco for long, I used to dry real deal for 4 hours, this one only needs but 15-30 min dry time. This new twist also smokes well unlike its traditional predecessor, but at what cost? The smell, the taste and room note ain't the same. If you don't enjoy tobacco that requires lots of prep and is challenging to smoke then it's worth to try this twist. However, fans who used to enjoy rum twist for what is was are probably going to be disappointed just like I am.
