Not a bad codger but it gave me tongue bite and there was a slight chemical/fake aftertaste that I didn't enjoy. Other than that it burned well and packed well and tasted like a decent burley. I prefer Granger over CH.
Carter Hall is my fave blend of all.
If you want to know what Burley tastes like, or single it out in a flavor profile, this is a fine example of what you will most commonly come across in blends. In my limited, nearly two year experience in the hobby. The top note's flavor takes a back seat to the taste of the burley, so it's easy to experience. Think seltzer-water hint levels of top note, it's there to compliment but this is really about that burley tobacco taste. The flavor of burley in blends like Old Joe Krantz and Haunted Bookshop are rarer in my experience, their burley leaf has a flavor profile I could describe as dead-grass, of which Prince Albert is in that family and quite different.
I will still give CH 5 stars..This blend has changed since it moved to the DR ..Definitely more topping added ,less tobacco taste. I could only smoke this with the addition of Velvet.
2 parts CH to 1 part Velvet does the trick for me..I’m glad that 4 Noggins sells this by the ounce
This is by far my favorite OTC tobacco! A fine, nutty flavor and just the right amount of nicotine. Better than Prince Albert, IMHO!
