Bulk, folded and stuffed in a contemporary (Duncan Briars) Ben Wade bulldog: Charring light and first few puffs release the full strength of signature Lakeland essences (floral, perfumey, soap-like.) Initially it seems slightly sharp, like a "sassy" Va flake, but it settles down quickly and merely produces a warming sensation on the palate and sinuses -- bite free and a smooth, thick, chewy smoke. Excellent mouth feel. The scents ease off quickly and a subdued but unmistakeable chocolate flavor steps forward to augment a very natural basic tobacco taste. Excellent balance from the Va.'s and Burley while the ever present Lakeland scent merely decorates the whole experience. Easily lit as a folded flake, and a slow burning smoke, so set aside some time before you fire-up a full bowl. Recommended, and an excellent intro to Lakeland scents as well as folded flakes.
