While very similar to Peterson's Irish Flake, Stirling Flake was packaged as one long flattened roll of flake, as opposed to a stack of slices. It was also perfectly hydrated for rubbing out and enjoying (just moist enough to bend without breaking). The tin aroma is heavenly, reminiscent of fall woods and pressed, aged dried fruit. The smoke is thick, creamy, and cool, with a flavor is slightly but noticeably more emphatic than the 2025-era Irish Flake, and no hint of tongue bite anywhere. Both are top-flight tobaccos in my opinion: flavor is hearty, mature, and complex without the need to resort to an overpowering Latakia. If you enjoy Stirling Flake, you're sure to enjoy Irish Flake and University Flake as well.
