Robert McConnell: PURE LATAKIA 50g

This is the pure joy for Latakia lover. Packaging says it is a quality Syrian Latakia for blending purposes and can be enjoyed straight if desired. Well I must say it should be smoked straight! It is not that kind of heavy, and even much more lighter than I ever expected, has a delicious taste, burns very cool. I couldn't find any reason not to smoke it straight. I feel like I have to keep one tin in my stock for all times.

I love 4noggins and I would love to like this tobacco, but was really disappointed to read the label: "Best Cyprian tobacco for blending ...". I was expecting the original Syrian Latakia ... made from a different tobacco and smoked with different woods and herbs. No longer in production now, so I suppose they had to switch to Cyprian, but I wish they would have made it more obvious. I will smoke it and review it on its own merits, but it isn't what I expected from their advertising. This comes in a slightly different tin than show, no longer says "The Original".
